eZine

Latest Issue of iMarketing iNsight

Monthly eZine covering trends in Internet Marketing and explaining the best tactics.

The Google Toolbar has been around for a couple of years, but I never bothered to install it.  I had installed the Alexa Toolbar when it first came available as a beta release, years ago - and just didn't see the need to install yet another "search tool" on my browser.  Besides, I rather like the Alexa Toolbar .

Recently, though, I came across a statement by a 3rd party claiming that installing the Google Toolbar could get your page indexed by them in just a couple of days.  Well, of course that would pique the interest of any Internet Marketer - so I had to go have a look see.

I couldn't find anything on the Google pages to confirm the statement I had read, but when discussing their Page Rank™, Google does say, "In order to automatically update this display for each page you visit, the Toolbar sends information about the page you are viewing to the Google servers." (installing with the advanced option is required for this).  Note that they don't say that they will send the "URL" to the Google servers, but rather...

Wanna Know How To Make More Money From Affiliate Programs?

there are these small, tiny little "adjustments" you can make that will instantly transform small, trickling commissions into large, wave crashing commission checks that really put the $$$ in your pocket.

What a Month!

Editor's Rant

First there was the Special Upgrade Offer by Affiliate Showcase, so I added my own incentive to that and put out about three different mailings to you, my readers.

I had been frantically trying to finish the 2nd Edition of my book and managed to get that ready to announce, just as the Affiliate Showcase promotion was coming to a close (that's it in the right-hand column).  That, of course, required mailings, new sales copy, and new advertising creatives.

Then I realized that I was also facing a deadline for an important eZine ad I had been offered.

Of course, this wasn't enough...
I had decided that my customers of the original edition would get free upgrades so I had to send those out ahead of time.

Then I thought, "Why not run an introductory special for everybody who had been thinking about buying, but just hadn't seemed to find the time?" (I can identify with that).

Once I committed to the introductory special, I realized that it would mean yet another set of sales copy and ads  for the new edition.  I still hadn't even let my affiliates know what was going on.

Oh yeah, you guys wanted a juicy newsletter this month, too?

Lastly (I think), there's the new name for this publication, and this new look...

I'm greatly expanding the info and resources available on the site, and felt the need to "spruce up" a bit.

I took a cue from Ken McArthur for one of the new resources, and decided to make a set of my articles available for reprint (for anyone needing more content for their own newsletter or web site), just by pasting a simple one-line script into their HTML.

The new look may not have made it to the entire site by the time you see this, but I'll get there, eventually.

Did somebody say
"Make a $Million overnight - no selling, no promotion, anyone can do it"???

Well...  at least I'm havin' fun!

March 2003

In this issue...
After a couple of weeks research into all the pros and cons of the various anti-spam measures, and the debate over them - I decided that my opinion would just be one more in a sea of opinions.  Then I stumbled onto a statement in a newsletter that led me down a strange path of discovery, on a totally different subject.  The result is this month's article (and an update next month, as well).

What a Month!
I've written an overview of my month's activities below, and am thinking about writing more detailed looks at my marketing activities as a monthly feature.  Any interest?

Let me know if you would like to see this become a regular feature detailing thought processes,  decisions made, and actions taken..
