7 Tips for More Adsense Earnings

by Sid Hale

Publishing ads from the Google AdSense program is like finding money in the street.

People who've never made a dime on the Internet have created good part-time incomes simply by placing AdSense Ads on their web sites or blogs.  Some make thousands each and every month.

Then you have the "Mega" earners. You've heard of them... the elite few who make half a million dollars a year (or more) publishing  AdSense ads on content sites.

But don't be naive... these people aren't building their incomes like the Mom and Pop sites do. They have systems in place that create sites for them... people who build sites for them... they outsource and automate as many of the tedious tasks as they can.  Keyword research and content creation - probably even the site building is either done by others or automated as much as possible.

While you probably can't emulate everything the most successful AdSense earners do... you can implement the following strategies to copy their success.

1) Treat your business like a REAL business and track everything you do.

Starting today, begin tracking what you're doing that works - AND what you're doing that doesn't work. This is to keep you from making the same mistakes over and over again, and you can repeat the things that work. As simple as this seems... most people don't know the reasons for their success or failure.

2) Utilize the latest tools and software available.

The most successful AdSense earners aren't any smarter than you.

They're regular people... except they use the latest tools available to them to automate most of the tasks required to research and create their sites. They use the latest keyword research, site creation and SEO tools available. The tools they use are their secret weapons.

3) Focus on the Low-hanging Fruit.

You probably can't compete with the search engine experts who create sites for keywords that pay out $30-$40 per click.  You might get lucky every once in a while... but in the long run, you're better off building sites for the lower paying keywords. There is less competition for this "low hanging fruit", it will be easier to get free traffic from the search engines, and your chance for success will be higher over the long run.

The Keyword Avalanche membership site just re-launched and now includes NicheBot v2.  I've been beta-testing NicheBot v2 for about a month, and it's a great way to identify good-paying, low competition keywords.

4) Choose broad niches and break it down.

Choose a broad subject as your main theme.  Then break that down into as many sub niches as possible.

Using Outdoor Recreation as the example... you could build a site about Camping, another about Hiking.  Then a site about Backpacking, Rock Climbing, or Fly Fishing.  In fact, even those topics are broad enough that you could build multiple sites about sub-topics of each.

You could literally build hundreds of sites around one major theme and stay totally focused. Once you have exhausted every possible sub niche of that major theme... choose another main theme and repeat the process.

5) Keep It Simple, Stupid!

Keep your sites easy to navigate and forget the fancy graphics that distract your visitors' attention.  The purpose of the site is to have people click on the ads, right?  Then keep the site layout simple... dump the scrolling banners, dancing bears, and colored scroll bars... they're just distractions, and will reduce the number of times your ads are clicked.

While you're at it, find a good site building tool to make building new sites as quick and easy as possible.  I use Rapid Niche Websites, because it combines all the best  features of easy site design, easy publishing, the best features of a blog, RSS feeds, and good monetization features.

6) Don't Try to be Everything to Everyone

Full fledged ecommerce sites, with products for sale, links to other products, etc. - are not good sites for AdSense.

Don't confuse your visitor with too many options or choices. The best AdSense sites are content sites that sell nothing.  They're sites that provide information.

You can create the information yourself by writing articles, or you can find content on article directories like eZine Articles or Info Syndicate

Another good source of content is Private Label Articles (another great feature of a Keyword Avalanche membership) and you can re-write some of these and submit them as your own to the articles directories to bump your site's search engine rankings.

7) Build Consistently.

A single site will rarely provide enough income to let you retire to the lap of luxury.  Once you've built one site and begin getting traffic and income.  Go back to Tip #4, pick another tightly focused niche, and begin building your next site.

You can always go back and "tweak" your sites to make them better producers, but keep planting new seeds (sites) to create multiple streams of income that will produce income over and over again for your effort.

To sum it up... use the tools available to automate as much of the process of keyword research, content creation, and site building as you can.  This will help keep you focused and on track. Be consistent in building... treat it like the business it is and you will reap the rewards of your harvest.
